Commercial tea bags tend to contain low grade dust and fanning. Yes, they brew quickly, but they don't have the great aroma / flavour + the same level of health benefits as loose leaf tea does!
We believe loose leaf gives you better quality for your money as you're not wasting money on tea bag packaging that is thrown away + many loose leaf teas can be re-brewed!
Avoid plastic: square sealed tea bags nearly always contain plastic to heat seal the two surfaces of the paper tea bag together. The tea bag often contains plastic that is woven between the paper fibres to strengthen the tea bag. Typically these tea bags contain around 20 - 30% plastic. The premium silky pyramid tea bags are either made of nylon or plant based plastics.
Our packaging is designed to store your tea perfectly. Our glass amber jars protect from UV light and have screw on lids to keep out moisture and retain the aroma. Our copper pouches also protect from light and can be resealed for freshness.
'A crunchy superfood alternative to chocolate chips, with no added sugars or fats.' It is the purest form of chocolate, more natural, less processed - therefore retains more nutrients. This is why we use cocoa in Tea Lab teas.
Matcha is a stone ground green tea that comes from top quality leaves, it is grown in the shade for at least 40 days before harvesting, which results in higher levels of chlorophyll and the amino acid L-theanine. Matcha is a powerful 'super' tea, the high levels of chlorophyll make it an effective detoxifier and give high quality matcha its vibrant green colour. L-theanine appears to encourage the release of alpha waves in the brain which enhances relaxation and focus.
The nutritional value of matcha is much higher than any other tea because the whole leaves are being ingested rather than infused. The powdered tea forms a suspension when mixed with water, this is why it needs to be whisked thoroughly before drinking. Traditionally the Japanese use beautiful bamboo tea accessories to prepare matcha tea in their tea ceremonies.
