Why loose leaf?
Commercial tea bags tend to contain low grade dust and fannings (who wants to drink that). Yes they brew quickly, but they don't have the great aroma / flavour + the same level of health benefits as loose leaf tea does!
We believe loose leaf gives you better quality for your money as you're not wasting money on tea bag packaging that is thrown away + many loose leaf teas can be re-brewed!
How should Tea Lab Teas be stored?
Our packaging is designed to store your tea perfectly. Our amber jars protect from UV light and have screw on lids to keep out moisture and retain the aroma. Our Copper pouches also protect from light and can be resealed for freshness.
How do I make my loose leaf tea?
If you are new to loose leaf tea infusing take a look at our tea tool range that are designed to be used in a mug or tea pot. Simply follow the instructions on the tea label or online.
Should I used bottled water to make my tea?
Bottled water is ideal because it is purer than tap water and allows you to taste the subtleties in your tea. This is especially true for fine tea e.g darjeeling or teas that are meant to be drunk straight.
Why do all of your teas say *may contain nuts?
Some of our teas contain nuts (almonds), and whilst every effort is made to ensure there is no cross-contamination, we put this advice on our labels so that you are aware.
What is Cocoa?
'A crunchy superfood alternative to chocolate chips, with no added sugars or fats.' It is the purest form of chocolate, more natural, less processed - therefore retains more nutrients. This is why we use cocoa in Tea Lab teas.

What is matcha?
Matcha is a powdered green tea that comes from the whole leaves, this is why the matcha needs to be whisked before drinking. Matcha is a powerful 'super' tea, the nutritional value of matcha is much higher than any other tea because the whole leaves are being ingested rather than infused.
Whats the difference between Bakers Matcha and Ceremonial Matcha?
Both types of matcha contain powerful antioxidants, the Bakers Matcha has a stronger flavour which makes it ideal as a versatile ingredient for both sweet and savoury recipes. The Ceremonial Matcha is more refined and mellow, it is ideal for drinking.
How do I store my matcha?
In a cool dark place, the Tea Lab amber glass jars can be kept on the counter top or in the fridge once opened.
Does matcha have much caffeine?
Yes, but the caffeine in matcha is absorbed slowly and gives a slow energy release.
