Our range of loose leaf teas and herbal infusions are a great source of natural, energy boosting compounds. Importantly, the energy from tea tends to be a slow release giving you sustained energy levels throughout the day. 

CEREMONIAL MATCHA
organic / matcha tea

Matcha gives a slow release of energy due to an amino acid called L-theanine. This combined with the caffeine helps to create a state of 'alert calm'. Energy from matcha consumption is sustained throughout the day, in contrast to coffee which tends to give highs and lows.

BRICK LANE
organic / black tea

Our Brick Lane chai tea will give you a natural energy boost, due to the balanced combinations of black tea and spices. Ginger in particular helps to balance blood sugar levels. 

MINT MOUNTAIN
organic peppermint / green tea

Our Mint Mountain contains an energy boosting combination of organic peppermint and gunpowder green tea. The essential oils found in peppermint have been shown to help with fatigue. Green tea tends to have less caffeine than black tea but contains L-theanine which helps to slow down the absorption of caffeine to maintain energy levels throughout the day.  

CITRUS GREY 
lemon + orange / earl grey tea

Black tea is a great way to increase energy and alertness. It is higher in caffeine than other teas (but generally still half of that in coffee). The presence of the amino acid L-theanine appears to trigger the release of alpha waves which are associated with 'wakeful relaxation'. 

PITCH BLACK 
organic chocolate / black tea

Our Pitch Black tea contains cacao which is known for its energising effect due to a naturally occurring compound theobromine. The energy from theobromine is more gradual and balanced well with the effects of caffeine.
